海產說，爸爸自退休後身體開始出現狀況，爸爸心態也從樂觀變得消極，「爸爸是B肝帶原者，他的肝已經出現肝硬化，本來是沒有立即的危險，但後來爸爸檢查出肝上有小白點，確診肝癌早期，因為發現得早，原本可以栓塞或切除就好，但因為爸爸有肝硬化，要治療的話只能換肝，不治的話，可能只剩3個月」。

爸爸不想連累家人，原本打算放棄治療，「他連遺書都寫好了，我跟爸爸說，今天如果互換立場，是我需要換肝，你會不會捐給我？爸爸說當然會，我說那我也是，我也不可能會放棄你」，最後爸爸終於妥協，而他經過長達12個小時的手術，成功換回爸爸的健康，「很多人都誇我孝順，但我覺得我只是做我該做的事」，如今他只剩下1/4的肝，醫生叮囑他要注意飲食、持續追蹤，需要半年時間才能完全復原，「我出院一個禮拜後就復工了，有時傷口痛起來很痛，要吃止痛藥，不過工作多少可以轉移注意力」。
