根據「衛報」指出，艾爾頓強最近在倫敦西區出席同名電影「穿著Prada的惡魔 The Devil Wears Prada」音樂劇首映會，他為該劇創作音樂，但無法參加演出，而他表示：「我喜歡用聽的，今晚的表現聽起來非常棒。」同時，他感謝丈夫大衛弗尼西的支持，感謝對方一直是自己的重要支柱。
其實，艾爾頓強於9月在IG公開眼疾之時，就透露眼睛看不太見，並表示康復過程相當緩慢，並感謝醫療團隊與家人細心照料，而他上周接受「早安美國」採訪時則表示視力問題已經完全影響到他的工作，「我在7月因為在法國南部感染而失去了右眼的視力，至今已經4個月看不見，而我的左眼狀況也不是太好」，並苦笑表示可以接受訪問以及宣傳，但不確定能否進錄音室，「因為我連歌詞都看不到」。
