韓團INFINITE主唱南優鉉去年9月來台開唱時，吐露「生了場大病」，隨後韓媒批露他罹患罕見癌症「腸胃道間質腫瘤（Gastrointestinal stromal tumor）」，已手術治療。
他近日上歌手李茂珍主持的網路節目時，也談到生病一事，被問到復原狀況，稱雖然還沒100%恢復，也有70%了，透露曾因病連呼吸都不順暢，很辛苦，為了重返舞台日夜努力練習著。
南優鉉直到手術治療後一段時間才公開生病消息，其實早已默默抗癌一段時間，而他隱藏這件事主要是怕粉絲擔心，且當時日程都已安排好，他也不希望因此耽誤到團體活動，所以選擇繼續活動。南優鉉也感謝公司在製作個人專輯時也給予了很大支持，讓他「邊錄邊想」，鼓勵他「你可以做到的」，過程收錄了很多好歌。
